Trinity Landing is proud of our hardworking and kind-hearted staff. Our small but tight-knit team is proud to provide exceptional service to everyone who will be calling this waterside community home. That’s why we want to introduce you to one of our amazing team members. Meet Bonnie Skobel, our Executive Director!
A History with Lutheran Services Carolinas
While Bonnie joined the Trinity Landing team at the end of June 2021, she has significant experience at our nearby skilled nursing facility, Trinity Grove, which is also part of the Lutheran Services Carolinas’ faith-based, nonprofit network. In 2011, Bonnie joined Lutheran Services as the Social Worker of Trinity Grove and transitioned to Administrator in 2017. Trinity Grove and Trinity Landing (just two miles away from each other), will now form our very own Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). After a decade of work at Trinity Grove, we happily welcomed Bonnie as she joined the Trinity Landing team as Executive Director. Despite being new to independent living, Bonnie is proud to guide this friendly, energetic, down-to-earth team. Overall, Bonnie’s main responsibilities involve handling project timelines and budgets as well as coordinating with our construction, wellness, and marketing teams. With Bonnie at the helm, she’s making sure we’re all prepared to welcome you to Trinity Landing in the spring of 2022!
Bonnie’s Typical Day
As Executive Director, a normal day for Bonnie consists of connecting with many different folks in and around this budding community. Bonnie often spends time with the construction, architectural, and design teams to ensure that progress is continually made toward each and every part of Trinity Landing. In addition, Bonnie has meetings with other team members to discuss budgeting, events, and other programming designed to enhance our “community without walls.” As part of her role, Bonnie also helps future community members learn about Trinity Landing’s dining options, wellness activities, local events, and more! Speaking about Trinity Landing’s dining plan, Bonnie said, “We will have first-class dining services, focused on a fresh, seasonal and ever-changing menu that will excite residents month after month and year after year!” Whether you choose to dine at Marker 139, Portside Pub, Boardwalk Bistro, or privately at The Jetty, Bonnie is working to make sure that every dining experience at Trinity Landing is unique and delightful. Bonnie is beginning to establish relationships with vendors for the Trinity Landing community as we get closer to opening. Some of the vendors that Bonnie has been in contact with include food service providers, resident portal systems, cable services, and more. Bonnie will also begin looking for team members who will serve in environmental services, maintenance, and dining services as we get closer to rolling out the red carpet for our first residents. Those are all important ingredients that will come together to create Trinity Landing’s unmatched, resort-like living experience along the Intracoastal Waterway!
Helping Our Vision Come to Life
Overall, Bonnie’s favorite part of her role is “interacting with our future residents and sharing in their excitement as we get closer to moving in!” Bonnie meets with residents who have reserved their future home at Trinity Landing to help them with personalization choices or to discuss ideas that would further enhance their lifestyle. When summing it up, Bonnie said, “I’m a normal person who’s driven to serve this population; this demographic is who I want to serve. That’s what brought me to LSC ten years ago.” Bonnie explained, “It’s really about making a connection with people. We visit, chat, and joke.” Bonnie notes that Trinity Landing’s natural beauty enhances the experience that we will be creating once we’re open. “The icing on the cake is that we’re zoned for exceptional design; the paths over waterways, solar power, the preservation of trees on the land, greenspaces, and walkways all come together to beautify the community while being a good steward of nature’s gifts at the same time.” As a faith-based community, Trinity Landing genuinely cares about its mission to help all people live abundant lives. “From boat slips to the kayak launch, to the pavilion with art shows… It’s really going to be beautiful,” Bonnie said. Homes are filling up quickly as we approach our opening date in May 2022. Welcome, I am looking forward to getting to know you and working with you.
Very impressive and her very capable reputation precedes her. We look forward to a one on one meeting. Perhaps in the near future depending on HER very busy schedule. George and Billie Wall. Villa?
