One of the most alluring parts of Trinity Landing, in conjunction with its unbeatable location along the Intracoastal Waterway, will be its Waterfront Pavilion. The Waterfront Pavilion will be a hub of the community – Wilmington’s only nonprofit, coastal Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) – which is slated to welcome active older adults in 2022. At the Waterfront Pavilion, you’ll enjoy plentiful activities and new adventures in a picturesque retreat that was inspired by one of Wilmington’s favorite hangout spots.

Treasuring the legacy of Lumina Pavilion

The Waterfront Pavilion’s main inspiration came from the famous Lumina Pavilion, a venue that reigned the Wilmington-area social scene for five decades after it opened in 1905 on the south end of Wrightsville Beach. Nicknamed the “Palace of Light,” more than 1,000 incandescent bulbs lit up Lumina, including its name shining brightly on its roof, making it a beacon for coastal fun-seekers and ship captains alike.

Trinity Landing’s Waterfront Pavilion will be crafted as a smaller-scale replica of Lumina, but the lively attitude and atmosphere within it and around it will be just as grand.

A buzzing spot surrounded by natural serenity

Every day at Trinity Landing will bring a new experience, and the Waterfront Pavilion will play a key part. Groups will rendezvous at the pavilion and then head out for kayaking and stand-up paddling through the Intracoastal Waterway with the full-time wellness and fitness staff. The pavilion will welcome neighbors, family, and friends for special occasions on the airy, bright, open deck, and the space will just as easily host classic s’mores nights around the ground-level fire pits.

Finally, with the long, elevated pathway that weaves through the “peak” of the intracoastal island, the area leading to and surrounding the Waterfront Pavilion will be the perfect spot for observing the phenomenal natural landscape.

Trinity Landing's Waterfront Pavilion will feature a raised pathway to and from the rest of the community, where members of the community will be able to enjoy and explore the maritime forest landscape.

From the elevated pathway and the two-story height of the pavilion, you’ll get panoramic views of the island’s surrounding maritime forest, the Intracoastal Waterway, nearby Masonboro Island, the Atlantic Ocean, and Wrightsville Beach and its channel. With every glance, you’ll catch a new piece of the coastal Carolina beauty.
